Michael Wilhite

As Vice President and General Counsel and an IES Board Member, Michael T. Wilhite, Jr. provides valuable insight and guidance with his decorated law background and more than 25 years of industry experience. 

Michael obtained his Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting and Master of Business Administration in Finance degrees from Baylor University. He went on to receive his Juris Doctorate from Texas A&M University School of Law and Master of Laws degree in Taxation from Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law.

He brings extensive expertise in a number of areas related to oil and gas and business operations, while having public company board experience serving on both audit and conflicts committees. Meanwhile, his background in accounting, finance, law, and taxation uniquely positions him to incorporate each of these disciplines into IES operations and the execution of its business strategies. 

As general counsel for multiple companies, Michael has played an integral role in negotiating many types of complex transactions. For Michael, paying attention to details and asking the right strategic questions is what makes his experience on the IES Board of Directors so worthwhile.

Currently, Michael also serves on the board of an international business based in Ireland, giving him ample experience working with multinational jurisdictional issues and customs. Outside of IES, he devotes his time to the Pastoral Reflections Institute where he has served as Chairman since 2011.
